Accredited, certified and trusted.

Within the accredited scope, our microbiological tests are performed according to internationally recognised standard methods (ISO and European Pharmacopoeia) — see also the list of test parameters or our STS directory entry. The Swiss Accreditation Service SAS regularly monitors our compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 since our initial accreditation in 1996. The scope of our accreditation as well as the individual accredited test parameters can be found in the current accreditation certificate and the STS directory entry — both are available for download in the download section of this homepage.

We have been officially recognised since our founding in 1989: the original «Authorisation to perform pharmaceutical testing for pharmaceutical companies» was issued at that time directly by the cantonal medicines control authority of Zurich. With the establishment of Swissmedic, jurisdiction over such authorisations was transferred to the federal level and converted into a manufacturing licence for medicinal products. Our laboratory therefore holds a manufacturing licence for medicinal products as well as certified GMP compliance. Our authorised activities cover in particular the quality control of medicinal products as well as the quality control of pharmaceutical active substances — in each case by means of microbiological analysis (excluding sterility testing). Compliance with GMP requirements is regularly verified through official inspections. We thus meet the highest quality and safety standards in pharmaceutical analysis. The current manufacturing licence and GMP certificate are available in the download section of this homepage.

In addition, since the year 2000 — at the time as one of the first laboratories in Switzerland — we have held a notification with the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) for activities involving risk group 2 organisms in accordance with the Containment Ordinance (ESV).
